According to the EPC process, the method first makes a foam plastic model (manual or mechanical), coats it with a special coating, and after drying, places it in a special sand box, fills it with dry sand, vibrates and compacts it, and casts it under vacuum suction. The model gasifies and disappears, and the molten metal displaces the model to replicate castings identical to the foam plastic model.
The lost foam casting process integrates the advantages of full mold casting and V-process casting. It is suitable for various grades, materials and large, medium and small castings of different structures such as cast steel, cast iron, cast copper and cast aluminum. Dry sand is used for mold fixing, and the original model remains unchanged; the casting has high dimensional accuracy and uniformity, no need to open the box, and the casting has no flash or burrs: the surface smoothness is close to precision casting, the internal structure is stable, and casting defects such as sand holes and air holes are eliminated or reduced. The entire production process is environmentally friendly at three levels and free of pollution.
